Day 1:
Course Introduction and overview from Prof. George Neofotistos and Dr. Sofoklis Sotiriou. Presentation of the participants. Keynote Speeches by Prof. John Garofalakis (CTI "Diophantus"), Elisabeth Zistler (BMUKK) and Marie Bijnens (EFQUEL) [Lecture, 2 hrs].
Day 2:Introduction to Technology Enhanced Learning and Learning Design – How teachers can benefit (Mariano del Castillo, Confederation of Education and Training Centres) [Lecture, 1 hr].Teaching learning to learn competences through digital media (ePortfolios, blogs, social networks, online video & serious games) [Workshop, 2 hrs].
Inquiry-based teaching- Best practice examples (ODS, OSR)/Examples of technology enhanced learning designs (Prof. Andrina Granić, University of Split, Faculty of Science) [Lecture, 1 hr]. PISA assessment framework for students’ inquiry-based skills/ problem-solving competences [Workshop, 2 hrs].
Day 3:
Learning designs practice: Using portals of interest for the participants (i.e. ODS, OSR) to author educational pathways [Workshop, 2 hrs]. Educational resources for astronomy [Workshop, 2 hrs].Visit to the Skinakas Observatory (observations by the participants).
Day 4:
Visit to the Natural History Museum of Crete. Using social tagging tools to annotate learning content [Workshop, 2 hrs].
Finalising and publishing (uploading) educational pathways in corresponding portals or other Content Management Systems (CMS) [Workshop, 2 hours].
Day 5:
Metadata Practice: Searching and Retrieving Learning Objects from Repositories (COSMOS, OSR). Using the portals to characterise and share digital learning content with educational metadata according to the IEE LOM Standard/Learning Design Skills [Workshop, 2 hrs].
Assessment of developed pathways using social tags. [Workshop, 2 hrs].
Copyright Issues [Plenary Session].
Day 6:
Presentation of participants’ work [Lecture/Demonstration, 2 hrs]; Conclusions, Evaluation of the Course [Workshop, 2 hrs]; Guidelines for follow-up activities, Closure.
